This month's new Video on the Monkey Temple!
The Three Stages of Wuji
Every month we add new videos and recorded lessons to the Monkey Temple. In this one we cover something that we have been looking at in the most recent face to face and Online classes.
With this video we go deeper into Wuji. We see that it is a way for us to build ‘The Engine’ for Tai Chi and Xing Yi and we start to turn this engine on.
It is broken down into three parts. Alignment and anchoring the center, sinking the Chi, dissolving muscular tension and then opening the frame. Sometimes this is known as Sinking the muscles and raising the bones. Finally, we look at how the breath interacts with the body.
This is the building block of the Internal Arts. Without this, there is no real Tai Chi or Xing Yi. Take your time on this training, do not rush. If you get to a stage that is too complicated or your body isn’t quite ready yet, then stop and go back. It's an ongoing process that develops over weeks, months and years and can have a profound effect on the body, breath and mind.
This type of training opens the way for Nei Gong and Yi Jin Jing and is the real backbone of the Internal Arts. Your body will relax and create a strong root. The force from your center or Dan Tien, will push into the ground and bounce back up filling the body creating Six Directional Force or ‘Peng’. The joints open, the tendons and facia stretch, the muscles relax, and the body links becoming unified.
Be patient and precise and keep training! :)
